Case Study #1 - Dietary Supplement

Due to NDA I cannot discuss the vertical or product by name. I can however discuss the success I have had in helping this company.

This particular dietary supplement was spending $250k per month and expressed an issue with getting traffic and sales volume. I identified a few areas of improvement, one of which was testing of their mobile funnel.

They had contracted a third party to split test and refine their pages, and they were focusing only on desktop traffic. 80% of their traffic was from mobile, and I redirected their efforts to mobile testing.

Within the first 30 days of helping them optimize their funnel, and greatly improving their QS (by using my 20-point checklist of tweaks) they were dominating in the space.

End of Month 1: The account spend jumped to well over $500k per month, adding 1,000 more unit sales than the previous month, all while dropping the CPA approximately $20 per unit. This was achieved by implementing split test systems, writing more compelling ads, restructuring the campaigns slightly, adjusting the campaigns settings which allows Google’s built in tools to perform at their fullest potential

End of Month 2: After the second month, the spend skyrocketed once again to over $1,000,000 per month, all while maintaining their target CPA (and lower). Most of this traffic was on mobile display and mobile apps. One weekend they spent over $25k per day on The Weather Channel app (both iPhone and iPad) at a favorable CPA.

Eventually they decided to take their management in house, with moderate consulting on my end, and eventually full time in house. I truly enjoyed helping them to achieve their goals, and they were open with me from the beginning that this was their end goal.

Case Study #2 - Tech Space

Due to NDA I cannot discuss the vertical or product by name. I can however discuss the success I have had in helping this company.

When I came on board, they were struggling to gain volume and had several tracking issues (Google cvr tracking) and their campaigns were not properly structured. Their spend was around $1000 per day.

I first analyzed existing campaigns, and carefully crafted a new strategy that was slowly rolled out, all while keeping their existing campaigns intact. I also greatly improved the performance of existing campaigns.

They went from just a few campaigns and $60k ad spend per month, to well over $240k spend per month all within their target CPA.

I then rolled out in-market and affinity campaigns and with the help of my Google team these new campaigns were divided into “browser” related campaigns to give us bidding flexibility. The results spoke for themselves.

Case Study #3 - Software Company

Due to NDA I cannot discuss the vertical or product by name. I can however discuss the success I have had in helping this company. Although the below company was not a direct client of Dunbar Group LLC, it was a comapny where my skills played a huge role in it's success, therefore I decided to add it here.

In 2010 I partnered up with a colleague to create a software company. Initially we were forced to use a white label product to drive sales and revenue through AdWords and create the seed capital we needed to complete our own unique software program.

My role was to assist in refining the software flow and help create the sales funnel. I worked directly with several freelance contractors to continually test and refine our sales funnel, as well as refine our product for final release to production, with the assistance of my partner.

At the beginning of 2012 the product was complete and launched via beta. By mid-2012, the product was starting to create a profit, and further improvements were made.

During the calendar year 2013, and with heavy marketing and refining efforts, the product produced over $11m in gross revenue.

I parted ways in December 2014 in a mutual agreement, to pursue my passion for marketing.

Case Study #4 - Diabetes Research Connection
(Google Grants Recipient)

Diabetes Research Connection is a non-profit organization created to raise money to assist in several projects driven to fight diabetes.

They were awarded a $10,000 monthly ad spend grant to drive traffic to their web site and raise awareness of their organization.

When we started working with them, their ad spend was barely spending $100 per day, just 1/3 of their monthly allowance in ad spend. The main reason was campaign structure and lack of effective text ads.

We re-structured their campaigns, and wrote new fresh ads that were better related to the keywords they were using and search queries that were produced. We also pointed those ads to the best possible location on their web site, which also greatly helped quality score.

The results? They are now maxing their daily ad spend at $333 per day, and even hitting that budget fairly early. We are now working with them on fresh new landing pages which will include a free diabetes recipe book that will be given away in exchange for donations.
